Located at the foot of Mt. Evans at 8,900 feet above sea level in the Arapaho National Forest. West Chicago Creek, which originates in the Mt. Evans wilderness area runs only 25 feet from the cabins and is filled with pan size rainbow trout. (BUT DON'T YOU DARE CATCH HAL, our mascot).

Call of the Canyon Cabins are just 6 miles south of Interstate 70, just off scenic highway 103 outside of Idaho Springs, Colorado, and only 50 minutes from Denver. Idaho Springs was named after Chief Idaho and the natural mineral hot springs nearby, which were considered sacred to the Indians. This is where the gold rush began in 1859. Idaho Springs is an historic, Victorian era mountain town where you can still explore working mines and pan for gold and gemstones. A few minutes away you will find Central City, known as "the richest square mile on earth", another gold rush town and one of only three Colorado towns to have legalized gambling.

In addition to offering easy access to the world's best downhill skiing at Loveland, Keystone, Winter Park, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge (all are just 20 to 45 minutes away) you can cross country ski and snowshoe right outside the door. Call of the Canyon Cabins are the perfect spot for hiking, Mountain biking, fishing, bird and wildlife viewing, or just plain relaxing.
